One huge con that I have with this book is the character Jamison and his attraction his ex wife's daughter, his step daughter. I also did not like how the men would joke about it saying that Jamison finally realized that his step daughter grew up. Hello! You were with her mother when she was young.....and now you are fantasizing about sleeping with her? That's disgusting. If he does have a book, I am not reading it. That's deplorable.Moving on.The main characters of this book were great. I loved their story and rooting for them from beginning to end. I will say that it was incredibly confusing to read this book after not reading or knowing about Lincoln's story (I don't read M/F) and there's another book from a different series (i think) that features characters from another book (HOME) that I absolutely loved. It's not impossible to follow, it just means you have to read carefully.Still super disgusted with Jamison's character and don't ever wish to read about him again. Why that was even put in the book, I wonder. It does not make him an endearing character rather the opposite. A man lusting after his stepdaughter (I don't care that he divorced/broke up with his ex). That is vile. That is a predator. His character can be killed off. Or I hope the author explains that entire thing in the following book. Perhaps I read that wrong, but I don't think that I did. I highly doubt that I did. It was a huge issue for me and it took me months to finish this book after reading that bit. I mean it was like 3 pages but they kept joking about him fantasizing her and it was so gross. So effing gross. I'll start by saying that I have not read the previous books in this series, but I kind of wish that I had, because then it would have probably been a bit easier to get into the novel. I simply felt that there were a couple names too many at first where a total newbie to the series (such as myself) can easily mix characters up.But the story itself ... On the one hand it was simply written, but it was also really beautiful and I loved how the hero Casey and his newfound love interest Ellis simply clicked and knew how to communicate and didn't make it a big deal how they were intrigued about someone of their own sex. Sure, Casey had known it for a long time, but Casey was Ellis's first man and it somehow completely minimized the whole factor of Ellis still being married for me. I didn't give a f*** about him being still married, because their marriage was on the rocks and it was simply so obvious that these guys clicked and worked together like a charm.The sex scenes were also a plus for me this time round because Cara Dee simply knew how to write those scenes. They were hot and there was just the right amount of scenes like that to make my inner perv happy.Also, have you seen that cover photo? I love it! It's so simple, but gorgeous at the same time and I adore how it also shows Casey's role as a single parent to a four-year-old girl.
