Ryden, the prince and heir of Cosandria, and was the only child to his parents. Throughout his life, Ryden was used to having a bodyguard in his life every day. Being forced to play with the right kids and was watched no matter where he went or whom he was with made lead to a frustrating life for a closeted gay young man. He had a responsibility to his parents and his country, so it was expected he would marry a woman to bear children for an heir himself. Not what he wanted.Ryden’s last bodyguard quit not wanting to deal with Ryden’s and his pranks. Now he was to meet his new bodyguard, his hot new bodyguard, Ajax who was just his type of man. Ajax’s first encounter with the gorgeous young prince was before he had started working for the family.They meet where Ryden worked in a bookstore and a student at the local university. Ryden knew his new live-in bodyguard, but the bodyguard hasn’t seen him in casual clothes, so he didn’t recognize the prince. Ryden flirted and came on to Ajax getting the results he hoped for, a slight bulge at his new bodyguard’s groin…all as a prank.When they meet again at Ajax’s first meeting with Ryden’s parents, he’s blown away that the prince was the young man at the bookstore…this job was going to be a nightmare. There’s no lack in adventure and action as the book kept me wanting to read more. I loved reading the book and highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Ajax loves being a bodyguard. But when he’s tasked to protect a Prince while he attends college he wants to rethink his profession. He’s less than thrilled when he has to pose as the Prince’s roommate and fellow college student. He never liked school and knows this is going to be torture. The biggest torture he’s had to endure is being around Ryden and not being able to do anything about it. He knows clients are off limits but maybe a fling wouldn’t hurt.Ryden knows he has a duty to his country. He’s expected to marry and produce an heir to follow in his footsteps. He thinks his parents will never accept the fact he’s gay so he just settles for rendezvous in clubs. When Ryden meets his bodyguard, Ajax he knows he’s going to have a hard time keeping his hands to himself. He knows he’ll never have a future with Ajax but maybe a fling couldn’t hurt.Ajax initially saw Ryden as just another spoiled royal but as he gets to know him he sees a different side to Ryden, a more vulnerable side. He sees the pressures Ryden is under when it comes to his princely duties. He wants to give him a sense of normalcy. When they both embark on their fling Ajax quickly realizes that he won’t be able to give Ryden up when the time comes.I’ve enjoyed this series so far. My only issue with this book was how it ended. It was a little abrupt for my taste. I wish it went a little further than it did. Otherwise it was a great story and I loved the chemistry between Ajax and Ryden.I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
